VALIDATION WORKSHOP ON RCS CURRICULUM

The validation of the RCS curriculum held at Kigali Marriot Hotel will be used in all the prisons in the country for correction of inmates and to help in their reintegration.

With the support from ILPD and Interpeace the curriculum will cover the issue of inmates released not to return in the crimes.

The Curriculum has 8 modules that will be taught in 6 months and it targets also their families and the society in general.

Different lessons about human rights, laws, civic engagement and the genocide ideology, living into the community in peace, live socially with neighbors.

This curriculum will help to bring those prisoners in the society but also have something to do and provide social development through those skills learned in the prison.

The executive Director of DIDE said that even someone commit a crime and found him/herself in prison still a human being and can change.
He/She needs to be prepared mentally, and then teach him that the crime he committed can change him, cause if you are mentally disturbed then other actions are inefficient.
Saying" Many when they found themselves inside the prison faces depression because of fear of living in prison, that is why the first step is to give him mental support and after other knowledge and when you analyze it, it gives effects.
Mostly when a mother leaves her children she finds it very hard to accept, but if you talk to her and show it is not the end of the world she accepts herself and move on.
