This new project will follow the children under 3 years living with their mothers in prison, monitor their reintegration into the society.
in this project DIDE will support elderly women in prison in Ngoma and Nyamagabe Prisons.
The main Objectives of the project:
– Empower people to live healthy lives and promote well-being for all at all ages.
– Achieve gender equality and empower all women and girls.
– Promote the advent of peaceful and open societies for the purposes of sustainable development, ensure access to justice for all and put in place at all levels, effective, accountable and open institutions.
Activities under 3 pillars:
– Children in prison (-3 years old) are released and monitored.
– Psychosocial support for elderly women in prison.
– Prisons and the Rwandan community are sensitized to the preparation and support for the reintegration of released persons.
It is in this line that DIDE staff visit the targeted prison to introduce the project to the head of the prisons, explain what DIDE will do in terms psychosocial support and mental health.
